Music Monday: New Order

Weekend one of Coachella is 46 days away and the more I look at the line up, the more excited I am to get to go! From 2005 to 2010 I had gone every year, but due to how popular the festival scene has become I haven’t been able to grab tickets, until this year. Thanks to a friend who can’t go at the last minute, Coachella is going to happen this year and I couldn’t have asked for a better line up, well maybe a Smiths reunion, but I don’t think that will ever happen.

Although I am very excited to see New Order, Blur, The Postal Service, The Yeah Yeah Yeah’s, Hot Chip, Wu-Tang Clan and so many more. I’m a huge Joy Division fanatic and I have never seen New Order live, this is the closest I’ll get to seeing Joy Division and that makes my heart dance. Have a great Music Monday!

Music Monday: No Doubt

After an 11 year hiatus No Doubt has released their first single off of their upcoming album “Push and Shove” which is set to release in September. The single is called “Settle Down” and the band members look better than ever and genuinely look happy to be playing together after more then a decade apart. One of my very first CDs was No Doubt’s “Tragic Kingdom” and as a child from the 90’s it’s no surprise I’m a huge No Doubt fan.

Gwen Stefani is not only an amazing entertainer and front women, but has proven herself to being a style icon and captivating fashion designer. I cannot wait for these guys to go on tour!! What do you think of the new single?

Music Monday: The Black Keys

Since 2010 The Black Keys have exploded, becoming many people’s favorite indie band. Although I’m still a huge fan of the duo from Ohio, I’ve been listening them since early 2000 when they were much more bluegrass and soul. I miss that. Rubber Factory is my favorite Black Keys album and Thickfreakness is amazing too. Below is ‘Girl is on my Mind’ from their Rubber Factory album. Take a listen and tell me what you think!

Music Monday’s: Yeah Yeah Yeah’s

To continue my love for female front women, I couldn’t resist showing my love for one of my favorite bands, The Yeah Yeah Yeah’s.  Karen O. has been an inspiration for attitude, music, style, dance and fashion. You name it and for myself Karen O. and The Yeah Yeah Yeah’s have always held a special place in my music heart. I remember seeing them perform Maps on the MTV Music Awards back in the early 2000’s. They’ve come a long way since their Art Star days and look forward to hearing them again with their upcoming album.

Music Monday’s: Fever Ray

Former front women of The Knife, Karin Dreijer Andersson released her self titled album Fever Ray in early 2009. Her style keeps true with a dark and electronic feel. Her sounds is morbid, dark and puts people in a trans that I guilty enjoy. I love her and had the pleasure of seeing a performance at Coachella 2010, simply breathtaking. One of my personal favorites for years.

Oscar de la Renta x Beats by Dr. Dre

These Oscar de la Renta headphones by Dr. Dre’s Beats line really has me thinking I need an upgrade from my not-so-fabulous Apple headphone. Too bad I’m not a fan of fur, but nonetheless these headphones are glamours. This fox fur, ear candy could be the perfect accessory when listening to music in cold places. NYC? Chicago? Boston?

The fur is fox and dyed a plum color and are $695.
